The Steering Committee Meeting will take place in the Conference Hall of the ICMP on June 14-16, 2017.
 

On the occasion of 70 years anniversary from the invention of the Monte Carlo method there will be held in Lviv the Ulam Computer Simulations (UCS) workshop on challenges and opportunities in molecular simulations. The aim of this first UCS Workshop is twofold. First of all, we are looking forward to paying tribute to the legacy of Ulam for his pioneering contribution to the development of the field of computer simulations. Secondly, we wish to bring together leading researchers on computer simulations of soft matter and to offer the young researchers and graduate students an in-depth review of the most recent developments in the field that poses many challenges nowadays.

On Tuesday, September 6 at 15:30 in the Conference Hall of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics (ICMP, 1 Svientsitskii Str., Lviv, Ukraine) Bertrand BERCHE (Universite de Lorraine, Nancy, France) will give an inaugural lecture
“Quantum Mechanics on a Ring”
on the occasion of conferring on him the degree of Doctor honoris causa. of the ICMP.
