On the generalization of the Van der Waals approach for the isotropic-nematic fluid phase equilibria of anisotropic fluids in a disordered porous medium
We focus on spherocylinder fluids with sufficiently long particle lengths for which the nematic-nematic transition was established. Strong influence of the type of interparticle attraction on the phase behaviour of anisotropic fluids in disordered porius media is established. Three simple models for this aim are considered, namely the model with the Lennard-Jones anisotropic attraction, the model with a modified Lennard-Jones attraction and the model with an anisotropic square-well potential. For all considered models, the phase diagram shifts to the region of lower densities and lower temperatures as the porosity is decreased.
