A survey of publications on simulations of the kinetic oscillations in the catalytic CO oxidation on Pt catalysts is given. The main mechanisms of their emergence, namely surface reconstruction of catalysts, important at low pressures, global coupling through the gas phase together with the nonoscillatory surface kinetics, and also with diffusion limitations in the gas phase, which dominates at high pressures, are considered.
