XIV Workshop and Competition for young researchers in the field of statistical physics and condensed matter theory
On June 4-6, 2014 XIV-th Workshop and Awards for young researchers in the field of statistical physics and condensed matter theory will be held at the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics.
The 2014 Workshop is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Mark Kac (1914–1984), who started his successful scientific career at Lviv University and became famous for his contribution to modern probability theory and to statistical physics, and to the 45th anniversary of the foundation of the Department for Statistical Theory of Condensed Systems (May, 1969), the first academic unit of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics. Its program will include invited lectures of top experts and short communications of young researchers. The Competition is announced for students and young researchers (not older than 35 years of age) in the field of statistical physics and condensed matter theory.
Detailed information is on a web page of the envent (in Ukrainian).
Students, and young researchers, and all interested persons are welcome to attend the Workshop and Awards.
