Carpathian Hiking Tour
To commemorate Marian Smoluchowski, who had mountain climbing as one of his passions and to continue tradition initiated already at Statphys’2009 in Lviv we plan to arrange a two day tour to the Carpathian mountains (Boykivshchyna Region).
We start in the morning of Saturday, July 7th, from the main building of the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics (Sventsitskoho 1). Buses will leave at 8:30.
At the destination (village Vyhoda near the town Dolyna – approximately 2 ½ hours from Lviv) we will be accommodated in double rooms of the hotel “Karpaty”.
The program of the first day (Saturday, July 7th) includes: hiking combined with a scenic “Carpathian tram” sightseeing tour, visits to local attractions, swimming in a mountain river, lunch and dinner. More information on the “Carpathian tram” can be found here. The program of the second day (Sunday, July 8th) includes: breakfast, climbing of the local hill Lysa Hora (1158 m), lunch.
The buses will return to Lviv on Sunday, July 8th, evening around 19:00.
We recommend to take with you rain coats, hiking shoes and clothes.
The hiking tour fee, 50 EURO is to be paid at the registration desk. It covers all basic expenses, including round way trip Lviv-Vyhoda-Lviv, local transportation, accommodation, excursion services and four meals.
