Department for Computer Simulations of Many-Particle Systems
The Department was set up in 2007 on the basis of the Department for theory of metals and alloys, headed during 1990-2004 by Professor Z.O.Gurskii. Since 2007 the Department has been headed by T.Bryk. Today the staff of Department consists of 7 permanent researchers (T.Bryk, A.Baumketner, A.Duviryak, J.Ilnytskyi, V.Solovyan, V.Tretyak, Yu.Yaremko), 1 engineer (O.Farenyuk) and 3 PhD students (R.Grytskiv, I.Klevets, I.Zagladko).

Started his PhD studies under the guidance of Professor Z.Gurskii, developed theory of ab initio pseudopotentials constructed within the approach of Completely Orthogonalized Plane Waves (COPW). Ph.D. in theoretical physics (1994). Postdoctoral studies: 1997-1999 – Department of Physics, University of Texas, Austin, USA, supervisor Prof. L.Kleinman, 2000-2002 – Department of Chemistry, University of Houston, USA, supervisor Prof. A.D.J.Haymet. Habilitation (2005) on "Microscopic theory of kinetic collective excitations and their manifestations in dynamics of pure and binary liquids". Main scientific interests: computer simulations by classical and ab initio molecular dynamics, theory of collective modes in disordered systems.
